My Third Grade Teacher

This is how I remember my third grade teacher. The woman was quite cruel to students she didn’t like, and for some reason, I was one of them. I never understood why such a mean spirited person would even be teaching children. My mother actually went as far as to go into the school to chew her out after one particular incident when I came home crying. My third grade teacher came to define evil personified when I was a child.

My older sister had this same teacher… when the teacher died, my mother clipped the obituary and mailed it to my sister with the note saying “this should cheer you up”…

She's one scary looking old lady to be in charge of 3rd graders Jerry. Your sketches are awesome work

Thanks, Tony! I find rough sketches interesting. I'm in the process of going through my sketch books to compile some of the best ones into a book to sell at conventions, so I've been looking at them quite a bit. That teacher in the sketch was particularly cruel —she was quite nasty to kids that were only 8 or 9 years old. She was so despised in my house, that when she died, my Mom mailed a copy of her obituary to my sister with the note “This should cheer you up”!Sent from my iPhone
